NEU Design CO was founded in 2015 by Elijah Neumann. We are based in St. Paul Minnesota and offer the Twin Cities a full range of design consultation, welding and metal fabrication, custom and bespoke furniture and architectural steel. Our passion at NEU is intelligent, conscious design which fulfills practical needs and elevates daily life. We love the organic modern movement of the 50’s and 60’s, a framework for design which was born and perfected in the midwest and which balances our love for innovation and technology with the beauty of raw materials and the natural world.

Before launching his own company, Elijah spent years developing a gift for problem solving and design as an electromechanical engineer, designing, fabricating, and automating machinery for a St. Paul factory. During this time he also studied sculpture, ergonomics, and design history and graduated UNW with a degree in industrial design. Although much of his career has been spent on the technical end of design, Elijah's true passion is aesthetics. He finds the most satisfaction in perfecting the details of a project - getting the proportions just right, picking the perfect material/texture combinations, and putting the extra level of polish on every object that leaves his Twin Cities studio. He believes his role as a designer it to think simultaneously as artist and engineer.

We work with trusted local companies and artisans to source powder coating, laser cutting, electroplating, woodworking, acrylic manufacturing, poured concrete, and many other specialized services to ensure each design project we work on is the best it can possibly be, and is always made responsibly in the USA.

NEU has managed projects as small as a single coffee table and as large as outfitting entire offices and breweries with all their furniture, staircase, built-in, and handrail design needs. We love collaborating with interior designers, architects, and contractors to integrate our work seamlessly into each space.
